About Allison

Hi! I'm Allison as you probably have figured out by now and I am really glad you have taken the time to stop by my website. I am a young mother of two children who are eleven and a half months apart! Life has been crazy for me since becoming pregnant in 2007, but it has been oh so sweet! I have a knack for finding the little blessing in an otherwise whirlwind of events. Before becoming a mom, I attended Shakamak High School in Jasonville, Indiana. I hated high school! I had a handful of really great teachers and have life long friends, but I always felt my education was lacking. That "motivation" pushed me to graduate early. I attended Indiana State University as an English/journalism double major, but later dropped the journalism and ended up with a minor in German. I relate my experience at ISU as "high school with ashtrays," though I think most campuses in the state have gone smoke free now. Again, I had a lot of good experiences and I was able to find the teachers that were there to educate their students, as opposed to many of my peers who merely sought a degree for it's monetary benefits. I plan to go back to school some day, but for what? I'm really not sure, it's a choice between about three entirely different fields of study.

In the meantime, I am raising my two little rugrats to the best of my abilties. If you can't tell yet, I'm a little bit of a control freak. Homeschooling for our family has been THE option since before I even conceived. I knew that by keeping my kids home, I would be in charge of every aspect of their education. This is both enthralling and terrifying! If I mess up, they could grow up to be serial killers or something, right? Anyway, I started keeping track of our journey here in these lovely pages and I hope it's something other moms and families, whether you homeschool or not, can find as a resource in our daily struggle to bring up healthy, loving, independent little people!
